Join the Board
Lead. Build. Transform. Join our Inaugural Board.
We are now accepting applications for our inaugural Board of Trustees — a group of committed community leaders who will help shape the vision, structure, and future impact of the Columbus City Education Foundation.
As a founding trustee, you will not just advise — you will build. Together, we will create a lasting platform to invest in public education, remove barriers, and expand opportunity for every Columbus City Schools student.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds — including parents, educators, alumni, business leaders, and anyone with a deep commitment to public education, equity, and innovation.
We are especially interested in candidates who bring:
-
Experience in education, youth development, finance, law, nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or community organizing
-
Lived experience in Columbus and a passion for improving outcomes for CCS students
-
A collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute time, energy, and ideas to a growing organization
Founding trustees will play a hands-on role in building the foundation from the ground up. Responsibilities include:
-
Attending regular board meetings
-
Serving on at least one committee
-
Participating in fundraising and donor outreach
-
Helping shape the foundation’s early programs, priorities, and partnerships
-
Making a personally meaningful financial contribution (no set minimum)
-
Approving the annual budget and key strategic decisions
-
Serving a two-year term, renewable once (maximum of four consecutive years)
This is a working board — not just advisory. Trustees will actively support operations, strategy, and fundraising during this critical launch phase.
Thank you for applying!
