Join the Board
Lead. Build. Transform.
We are now accepting applications for our inaugural Board of Trustees — a group of committed community leaders who will help shape the vision, structure, and future impact of the Columbus City Education Foundation.
As a founding trustee, you will not just advise — you will build. Together, we will create a lasting platform to invest in public education, remove barriers, and expand opportunity for every Columbus City Schools student.
What to Expect as a Trustee
The Board of Trustees of the Columbus City Education Foundation is both a governing and working board. Trustees are expected to actively contribute their time, expertise, leadership, and networks to advance the Foundation’s mission—particularly during this formative stage of growth and strategic development.
In addition to attending quarterly board meetings, trustees are expected to:
-
Serve on at least one standing or ad-hoc committee and actively participate in committee work
-
Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts, including introductions, cultivation, and stewardship
-
Help shape early programs, partnerships, and the Foundation’s strategic priorities
-
Participate in key strategic and operational decisions, including those related to planning, policy, and organizational development
-
Make a personally meaningful annual financial contribution (suggested amount: $5,000 per year)
-
Serve as ambassadors for CCEF within their professional, civic, and community networks
-
Review and approve the annual budget, financial reports, and other major Foundation decisions
Estimated time commitment: approximately 4–6 hours per month, with additional engagement during periods of strategic planning or major initiatives.

CCEF welcomes applications from individuals across all backgrounds who share a strong commitment to public education, equity, and opportunity.
